AT Psychiatry, PLLC, is the private psychiatry practice of Artin Terhakopian, MD. Since opening in 2018, AT Psychiatry, PLLC has been proud to serve the Colorado Springs, CO community.

Most mental health providers approach the diagnosis and treatment of mental/behavioral disorders based on clusters of symptoms and little to no exploration of underlying medical etiology or pathophysiology.

However, there are those whose suffering is not only through social and situational causes, but also medical and physiological problems requiring psychiatric interventions.

Dr. Terhakopian is a board certified psychiatrist who keeps abreast of new scientific advances to rapidly translate new science into clinical practice. With Dr. Terhakopian, you will receive comprehensive care with tailored evaluations and treatment including laboratory testing, medications, referral for further medical evaluation and treatment by other specialists, psychometrics or psychotherapy as appropriate.

More About Dr. Artin Terhakopian

Dr. Terhakopian is a board-certified psychiatrist. He earned his M.D. in 2002 through the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the only military medical school in the United States. He completed a broad-based medical internship and psychiatry residency training at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He treated hundreds of soldiers and their families affected by the trauma of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. Dr. Terhakopian then earned his Master of Public Health degree (M.P.H.) back at USUHS and completed a fellowship in Disaster and Trauma Psychiatry in 2008.

Many thousands of patient encounters have honed Dr. Terhakopian's skills in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of depression, anxiety, alcohol/substance use disorders, and particularly Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Because of his training in medicine in addition to the social and psychological sciences, Dr. Terhakopian is able to assess for medical conditions which can and, in many cases, do contribute to mental health problems. This type of comprehensive evaluation significantly improves the odds of treatment success and improved functioning.

As a former Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) of the US Army, including combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, Dr. Terhakopian is a perpetual student of the Army values. You can count on an honest and caring relationship once you begin treatment with Dr. Terhakopian as your psychiatrist.
